For many years I have been creating hard edge compositions as acrylic paintings, usually on canvas but occasionally on hardboard for larger works. Most of my paintings are loosely based on natural scenes or phenomena, either found in the real world or the internet, which I dismantle and simplify so that all boundaries are redefined as hard edges. The resulting forms are then iteratively augmented by the use of vibrant colours and geometrical shapes, lines and curves until they result in harmonious compositions which only vaguely resemble their original inspiration.”
